Summary
The Children’s Hospital within the Royal London is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced nurse into a band 7 ward manager position, to cover maternity leave on the Surgical and Trauma ward in this diverse and dynamic part of London. Based in a tertiary referral centre, we treat patients ranging from 0-18 years old with a variety of conditions.The post holder will have oversight of the day-to-day management of the enhanced monitored bay.
Working alongside the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will be responsible for the overall management of the ward, including managing the ward budget with guidance from the matron and conducting ongoing performance reviews of the nursing staff in line with trust values.
The successful candidate must be a registered children’s nurse with excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate experience at a senior/charge nurse level. Extensive experience in caring for patients undergoing common paediatric Surgeries and Trauma is required. Excellent clinical and management skills, knowledge of creating and managing rosters are also necessary for the role.

The purpose of this role is to provide expert clinical leadership at ward level setting and delivering high standards of clinical care. The post holder will provide 24-hour accountability for the overall management of the ward and the delivery of nursing care, including oversight of the day-to-day management of themonitored bay.
