Summary
Do you have an interest in, or passion for working with children and young people with diabetes, or do you have previous experience in the management of paediatric diabetes that you’d like to develop and share within a new team?
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated paediatric nurse who would like to develop their career further within the area of childhood and adolescent diabetes. Opportunities to undertake specialist training along with further career progression into a clinical specialist role are available within the service.
With one of the largest services for children and young people with diabetes in the South East Coast and London network we can offer you a rewarding, flexible and supportive role building long term professional relationships with CYP and their families. We are on an exciting improvement journey and can offer you a rewarding and supported role with our care group.
With the majority of clients having Type1 diabetes and over 85% currently using integrated insulin pump and sensor technology vast experience in the use of the latest diabetes related technologies is available.

To work within the Children’s Diabetes Team, providing expert nursing care, support and advice to children and young people following the diagnosis of diabetes.
To work under the direction of the specialist nurses, supporting a caseload of patients across East Kent.
To work in partnership with the children, young people and their families offering advice, emotional and practical support and liaising with other professionals.
To participate in the Out of Hours telephone on-call service for children, young people and their families ensuring they have access to specialist diabetes advice (pro-rata)
