A bit about me:
I am a 51 year old lady, I live in my own home with 24 hour support. I like being in my own safe surroundings where I know where everything is and I enjoy my set routine. Although I have limited language I understand what is being said to me and enjoy talking about what I am doing. I really enjoy helping with my routine household tasks like sorting the laundry, making teas and coffee and helping in the kitchen at meal times. I enjoy being in my little garden tending the flowers and filling up the birdbath. Inside the house I like to colour and practise my cutting skills and with help, doing jigsaw puzzles. In general, I like to lead on activities that I want to do but I also sometimes need to be prompted and encouraged to try different things.
About the role:
I am looking to expand my team of PAs who give me 24hr support to allow me to remain in my own home. I need help me with my personal care, guidance with meal prep and general household tasks, I also need help with my medication. Above all I need someone who will keep me safe, encourage me to remain active and become a part of my hardworking team. Any training needed will be given by my experienced staff before you are expected to work independently.
The kind of person I am looking for:
I am looking for someone who is friendly and approachable, responsible, reliable and trustworthy and certainly someone who will offer me respect and be sensitive to my needs. I would appreciate someone with good communication skills who is calm under pressure. It is requested that the applicant is female due to the role involving intimate personal care. For this reason, it is exempt under the general occupational requirement section of the Equality Act 2010.
