About Us: At Tower Hill, we are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive. We are looking for a passionate and experienced SEND Assistant to join our team and help support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Role Overview: As a SEND Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEND, ensuring that their individual learning needs are met. You will work closely with teachers, the SENDCO, and other professionals to help implement tailored support plans, including those for students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of support plans for students with EHCPs.
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and interventions.
• Update and manage SEND-related data on databases and ensure records are up-to-date.
• Support teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
• Communicate regularly with the SENDCO, teaching staff, and parents regarding student progress.
• Help students with SEND to access the curriculum and develop essential life skills.
• Contribute to the overall well-being and inclusion of students in the school community.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience working with students with SEND.
• Familiarity with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Strong record-keeping skills and experience with databases.
• Knowledge of relevant SEND legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with students.
