Summary
To assist the radiologists/other radiographers/radiology nurses during patient examinations in the Radiology Department. To undertake all other radiographic duties within the department with supervisory responsibilities as appropriate. To be responsible for the care and comfort of the patient whilst in the department and throughout their examination. To liaise with and maintain close working relationships with other disciplines within the Trust and the Directorate. To ensure a high quality, patient focussed and professional service is delivered at all times, ensuring the care and comfort of the patient whilst in the department. To participate in the radiology shift system, this includes rotation through CT, general x-ray, fluoroscopy, theatre, ED, mobile work and other flexible working commitments (and in the future MR), and rotad shifts to cover weekend, bank holidays and nights. To undertake any tasks for which a radiographer has been trained although normally performed by support staff, which include practitioner, radiology assistant or clerical duties. To undertake radiographic examinations following departmental standards and procedures. To ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy at all times. To maintain professionally high standards in appearance, hygiene, manner, punctuality, attendance and competence in accordance with HCPC and Department standards. If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £45.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
