Tornado Support 1 has 3 responsibilities:
You are the UK Government’s National Focal Point for all NETMA Tornado tasks and are empowered to approve UK participation in NETMA tasks where funding is available. You will represent the UK Government at a series of face-to-face NETMA Tornado meetings that are held at NETMA’s premises in Munich; requiring around 15 visits to NETMA a year. Tornado Support 1 also provides NETMA/NAMMO advice to other Tornado Team members, co-ordinating Tornado Team input to NETMA activity, as well as supporting senior MOD Civil Servants and RAF Officers in preparation for meetings, etc.
You are responsible for coordinating the Tornado Team’s assuring the performance of MODSAP’s Prime Contractor (PC), BAE Systems Saudi Arabia, in delivering contracted products and services for RSAF Tornado at Warton, Samlesbury, Riyadh and Dhahran. You will be required to offer support to other London-based Tornado engineering personnel, in order to improve team resilience and ensure sufficient visibility of the overall programme. Tornado Support 1 is also responsible for highlighting any delivery risks.
You are responsible for coordinating all Tornado Team support activity and ensuring that Tornado Team business/management activities are coherent and aligned with higher level MODSAP business/management processes.
Tornado Support 1 acts as Line Manager of the Tornado Support Coordinator.
