Crynodeb
The DCPT Technician is responsible to OC Digital Support Flight (DSF) for the delivery of DCPT services to RAF Cranwell. This includes responding to cyber incidents across a diverse range of Information Systems, whilst also supporting the management of cyber security and working with the Royal Air Force Police to ensure Information Protection Zone (IPZ) compliance.
Responsibilities include:
The Defensive Cyber Operational protection of applicable systems; to provide a responsive capability to either react to locally generated incidents or respond to an Air Command directive in the protection of identified systems.
Ensuring all CIS is correctly patched and has extant Anti-Virus applied.
Managing and distributing MOD CIS warnings received and amalgamating responses to them where required.
Ensuring that the MOD CIS warmings tracker is maintained and kept up to date.
Conducting no-notice audits and health checks of CIS ensuring adherence to Cyber, Information, Accreditation and Security policies, reporting discrepancies to the Team Leader as required.
The creation, coordination, reviewing and updating of Local Work Instructions to assure their effectiveness and currency.
Promoting a positive cyber security culture to Station personnel, and any unit that it has parenting responsibility for, by education personnel about cyber security risks.
Co-ordinating and promulgating Cyber security information to the Station and the wider cyber community.
Deputising for the Team Leader in their absence, carrying out their duties as required.
Act as the 1st Line of defence against cyber security incidents. Remaining familiar with and taking the appropriate actions in the event of a compromise.
Ensuring that all CIS installed on station is accredited and operated.
Actioning, reporting cyber incidents and concerns to the Team Leader providing expertise and guidance.
Raising cyber incident reports.
Conducting asset tracking across station.
Remote working within this role is something that can be discussed at interview stages or with your future line manager if you are found successful.
