Summary
Temporary Female Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist a young woman aged 30 with a Physical disability living in the Lesmahagow area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
· Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including catheter and bowel movements)
· Assisting with medication
· Preparing meals and healthy snacks and monitoring fluid intake
· Bowling, swimming, horse riding
· Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair, using manual hoist/tracking hoist
· Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Driver essential as you will be required to drive a mobility vehicle.
The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Pets in the household – you must be comfortable two German Shepherd dogs in the home.
Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)
Recruiting for one position.
One position of 14 hours per week
Days and times:
Monday and Friday
9am – 4pm
Overtime available to cover existing Team
Hourly rate:
£12.50 per hour
