Summary
General Description
To deliver friendly, efficient customer service and to ensure the safety of our guests, at all times.
To clean all areas of the hotel thoroughly, with the key aim of enhancing the customer experience by having excellent standards of hotel cleanliness
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a high standard of customer management, at all times.
2. Fulfil all reasonable requests from guests, to ensure their comfort, satisfaction and safety.
3. Ensure that our hotel is operated safely, at all times.
4. Undertake overnight responsibility for reception, checking guests in and out, taking reservations and dealing with all telephone enquiries.
5. Check identification of customers to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
6. Clean up restaurant, bistro, coffee shop, coffee lounge, Llewellyn Suite, Ballroom, outdoor tables and terrace after customers and clean with appropriate chemicals.
7. Be responsible for evacuation, in cases of emergency, acting as first point of contact for guests and the emergency services; be accountable for guests’ safety and comfort.
8. Complete security checks at hourly intervals throughout the night.
9. Complete manager’s log book and maintain accurate records of all fire safety checks carried out during the shift.
10. Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training and attending courses.
11. Carry out instructions given by the management team.
12. Fulfil all reasonable requests from guests, to ensure their comfort, satisfaction and safety.
13. Vacuum all carpets and upholstery and remove all chewing gum
14. Dust and polish all chairs, tables and all drinking shelves
15. Polish all brass, including bar rail, kick plates and push plates
16. Dust picture frames and clean the picture glass
17. Clean all internal glass
18. Sweep and wash/mop any floor tiles, marble or hearths
19. Dust all other fixtures and fittings, including skirting, radiators, pipes, fire extinguishers and any other surfaces within reach
20. Wet-wipe all skirting boards
21. Dust all lamp shades and bulbs
22. Clean all public toilet areas
23. Clean all ground floor public areas as required
Skills and Experience Required
• A friendly and welcoming approach.
• High standards of dress and presentation.
• Ability to remain calm during difficult situations or in a very busy environment.
• The ability to work unsupervised.
Skills and Experience (Desirable)
• Previous customer service experience.
• Previous experience in hospitality.
• Previous experience in management.
