Summary
If so, come join us as an Associate Content Designer.
A content designer is a user-centred designer who specialises in content, usually words. They make things easy for people to understand and use by designing how information is structured. They use evidence to design the content users need at every point in their journey - for example a GOV.UK page, a digital application form, navigation elements, button text, error messages, emails and letters.
Putting users' needs at the heart of their work, a content designer makes people's interactions with government as simple as possible.
With some relevant experience in content creation, an associate content designer needs aptitude, potential and an understanding of the role of a user-centred content designer.
We’re looking for enthusiastic associate content designers to join our expanding and supportive GOV.UK team. We create and manage the guidance and tools that millions of people use every day.
At this level, you'll work with the support and supervision of an experienced content designer to:
- Create content that's consistent with the GOV.UK and DWP style guides and design systems, and with best practice.
- Work with user researchers and interaction designers to create and test designs.
- Work with stakeholders outside your team to make sure that content is accurate - this might include fact-checking or pair-writing.
- Take part in DWP’s user-centred design community of practice, including getting your work reviewed by other content designers and reviewing their work.
