Summary

To develop a pan LPP IPP strategy, with the requirement that all LPP services develop local action plans to progress this strategy. The LPP strategy will build on the recent HMPPS action plan and will focus on identification and prioritisation of those on IPP for direct and indirect support, the development of co-produced active support initiatives and partnership approaches for supporting progression through recategorization and parole processes. The strategy will integrate existing HMPPS and OPD IPP initiatives to ensure a coordinated approach which avoids duplication. In partnership with HMPPS senior leads across the LPP partnership services to propose, pilot and evaluate an enhanced pathway of support to those serving IPP sentences under LPP's care. To develop best practice guidelines to support LPP service users to make transitions between secure services, into the open estate, into the community and following recall to closed conditions. To work closely with LPPs Performance team and senior HMPPS Partners to ensure that these guidelines are fully implemented by all LPP Partnership services. To be responsible to the LPP Associate Directors for the monitoring and implementation of professional standards and for the systematic and effective provision of professional supervision practice to those involved in the Complexity and Progress working group. To exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the LPP Complexity and Progress working group. To initiate audit, policy and service development and research activities (as described above) to monitor outcomes associated with the implementation of the initiatives implemented by the working group to ensure the delivery of a reflexive, high quality and financially efficient service with a sound basis in evidence-based treatment and best clinical practice. To monitor and manage relevant key performance indicators. To attend relevant meetings and forums to represent both LPP Complexity and Progress working group and the LPP services. To effectively foster and develop relationships with both internal and external partners in the LPP delivered Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Services and non-statutory third sector organisations. To ensure routine outcome monitoring by all LPP staff in accordance with the aims of the Complexity and Progress working group. To ensure that all services provided are acceptable and accessible to the diverse communities which make up the LPP service participant group. To support the LPP Associate Directors in contributing to wider service development across the Trust, in the LPP delivered OPD pathway services, and to attend relevant meetings and clinical forums.
