Summary

Cadw Custodian:

If you have a passion for heritage and want to help people enjoy historic sites, then we need you!

Cadw Custodians are the face of our business - welcoming the public, dealing with admissions, helping them enjoy their visit safely and choose an appropriate souvenir.

You will need to be ready for anything and take customer questions in your stride – questions such as ‘who lived here?’, ‘when was it built?’ and perhaps most importantly ‘where are the toilets?’

What it’s like to work here:

Cadw is the Welsh Government’s historic environment agency and plays a pivotal role in connecting people with the historic environment of Wales. Cadw means ‘to keep’ or ‘to protect’.

We have a collection of nationally important historic sites, open to the public, creating opportunities for people to enjoy, learn about and take part in heritage activities. Some of these sites are staffed by a team of custodians.

Who we're looking for:

You'll need to be

fantastic at customer service
able to converse in Welsh
a great team member, building supportive relationships with colleagues.
able to operate an electronic point of sale system (training will be given)
calm and able to respond effectively in an emergency
