We're looking for an Academy Engineer to join the Auger Team, covering Birmingham and the surrounding areas.

Starting Salary of £26,984.10
A discretionary annual profit share bonus
A 5.5% pension contribution
Working Hours are 42.5 Hours - Monday to Friday
No on-call work
We pay your travel time door to door.
Voluntary overtime during the weekend is available, paid at time and a half. For example, working 10 Saturdays per year would increase your salary to £28,541.30

-The Role
The Academy Engineer role is a pathway to your career and progression within Auger and beyond. You will be assisting lead engineers with Water Supply Pipe repairs on-site; daily duties include excavating, installation of below-ground pipework, aiding in pipework replacement works, surface reinstatement etc. Over time we will provide you with all the training and support needed for you to be developed and progressed into a lead engineer, which will require commitment to growing your skills. The majority of the training will be site-based 'on the job', with the Lead Engineer taking the time to share their knowledge and experience with you.

-Preferred Experience
Previous groundwork experience
Reinstatement of various different domestic surface types including; paving slabs, block paving, cold lay tarmac, concrete, etc.
Use of CAT scanner in order to identify buried services and to trace/locate the drainage system by use of sonde
Knowledge of basic drainage principles
Knowledge of basic water mains principles
Use of 360 Excavators (1.5T, 3T, 5T)
-Prerequisite
A clear basic DBS check
Driving license check
Job competency and relevant experience
