Working in a hybrid style, based at home and 5 City Square office, you will work full time, 37 hours per week, on a fixed term basis for 4 years.

Requirements

You will have a degree in a relevant subject.

Responsibilities

You will assist and support functions of the Trading Standards Section, including fair trading, weights & measures, consumer safety, animal health, sale of restricted products and the Trusted Trader Scheme whilst undertaking the Trading Standards Practitioner Diploma qualification.

The Individual

You will have experience of working with the general public, report writing and of providing effective presentations. You will also have excellent organisational skills, experience of using Word/Excel packages, and good communication and workload co-ordinating skills.

You will be able to gain the Trading Standards Practitioner Diploma within four years.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
