Job Description

Glasgow City Council are currently looking for a Project Officer Graduate to join the Chief Executive’s Department within our Centre for Civic Innovation (CCI). The CCI is a core team within Glasgow City Council leading the way in using design to convene multiple stakeholders in the civic space, creating programmes that ensure solutions work for everyone: the people, local authorities, and organisations within communities in the city. This post holder will become an agent of change supporting the team to share knowledge and skills with colleagues, partners and communities, empowering the Policy and Corporate Governance section as it takes a central role in the public service reform agenda. The successful applicant will join a fast paced, collaborative and design led environment and will work to support a multidisciplinary team working across a number of live projects. Duties will include desk research, fieldwork, co-design, and engagement. Candidates should have a strong understanding of social innovation, user centred design and design thinking methodology. Knowledge of Service Design, Open Innovation, strong story-telling techniques and visual communication skills would be desirable. For more information on this role please see attached Person Specification, Role Profile and Graduate Programme outline. Please note to be eligible to apply you must: • Have a degree qualification which has been awarded, not pending. • Live in the Glasgow City Council Boundary, this means that the Council Tax for your home address would be paid to Glasgow City Council. • Be unemployed, under-employed – meaning that you’re working in a role which isn’t at the level of your formal qualifications or facing a redundancy situation.
