Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a very diligent and industrious team on a temporary basis, providing payroll services to Sandwell Council and other local clients, using a hybrid working model. The team’s objective is to pay staff on the various monthly payrolls accurately and on time, in line with contractual and statutory obligations to predefined timetables.
Appointments are dependent on a minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a busy payroll environment (ideally Public Sector), and ideally hold a recognised payroll qualification, with the ‘National Payroll Certificate 1, 2, 3’ or be willing to work towards this.
The successful candidate will work flexibly within the team to help deliver a timely and effective service to clients. You must be able to demonstrate your knowledge and experience of payroll regulations and procedures, such as PAYE, NI, SSP. SMP, Student Loans, Pension (e.g. Teachers and Local Government, Auto-Enrolment), and Gross to Net calculations.
Having good administration and customer services skills, being well organised and the ability to work independently with good attention to detail, are all essential requirements for this role. Other essential requirements would be experience using Microsoft products and Oracle Cloud Fusion.
Handling enquiries from a range of audiences, as well as organising and maintaining accurate records using ICT systems including Microsoft Office and Oracle Applications.
Requirements:
Educated to Level 3 NVQ in relevant area or equivalent experience in a relevant area.
Willingness to work towards CIPP Professional Awards Level 3 Certificate in Payroll
Systems on commencement of appointment.
Hours
37 hours per week.
