Summary
Neway are looking for a Rent Arrears Recovery Officer to join our client based with Sutton Council.
This role is starting asap, working 36 hours a week in an ongoing contract.
Brief Description of job role and department
As the Rent Arrears and Recovery & Enforcement Officer the post holder will be working within the Shared Finance Service, Housing Income & Financial Inclusion Team to administer, collect and recover Housing Rent, and Temporary accommodation charges.
The manager is looking for someone who has the following :-
*Has at least 2 years experience of dealing with all stages of the rent arrears process and the Pre Court Protocol.
*Is able to represent the Council at Possession Hearings in the local county court. This includes obtaining possession orders and attending tenants applications to suspend an eviction warrant.
*Has a knowledge of submitting possession cases via the Courts PCOL system.
*A good knowledge of benefits such as Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.
*Has previously used Universal Housing and Rent Sense systems to manage rent arrears.
