Renfrewshire Council is seeking to recruit a Waste Liaison Officer

Reporting to the Waste Operations Supervisors within Environment, Housing, and Infrastructure, you will make a major contribution to continually improving the ongoing development and delivery of the Council’s waste management responsibilities, including (but not limited to):

Providing direction, supervision, and day to day deployment of resources (employees & vehicles) and ensuring high quality services in all operational areas of Waste Services.

Assisting and supporting the Waste Services Supervisor and Waste Services Operations Team Leader in all activities related to our waste, recycling, and disposal operations across Renfrewshire.

Providing frontline supervision and quality monitoring of service delivery and performance standards.

Delivering high quality front-line waste services to the residents, businesses, and other clients that we serve within Renfrewshire Council area.

Delivering a high standard of Customer Care to the residents, businesses, and other clients across Renfrewshire Council area.

Representing the Council positively when engaging with Renfrewshire residents and other stakeholders, ensuring you and your team carry out your role in line with the Council’s values.

Ensuring that the service operates safely, efficiently, and effectively in line with customer requirements and all appropriate statute, policies, and procedures.

It is essential you have an SVQ 2 level or have relevant appropriate operational experience, experience of working within Waste Services functions in a large and diverse organisation, experience of deploying, motivating and supervising multi discipline teams and staff members and have understanding of requirements to ensure Health and Safety Management Systems are maintained.

You must be able to demonstrate effective influencing skills in order to deliver business activities, have knowledge of the statutory and legislative requirements of the service, operational knowledge of large goods vehicle operator license requirements and undertakings of that license for staff you deploy.

Demonstratable effective communication, presentation, influencing, supervision, and motivational skills at an operational level as well as decision making skills with the ability to make decisions and recommendations based on the consideration of available options are also essential.

LGV Driving license to Class C or ablity to achieve this within 12 months in post (funded by Renfrewshire Council). As well as Up to date CPC Hours is essential.

You must have the ability to work outdoors in all weather
