Summary

As the PMO Lead, you will be at the centre of the QAPO supporting all areas of delivery output. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires, drive, energy, and initiative plus the ability to communicate effectively across various military ranks and civilian grades. You will be an integral member of the Programmes Office and will need to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other stakeholders across the Royal Air Force, Ministry of Defence and Industry.

Strategic Planning: Support the development and implementation of programme management strategies and processes, ensuring the QAPO outputs remain aligned with the Ministry of Defence's goals and objectives.
Programme Governance and Oversight: Have an oversight of all programme activity and support to Programme Managers (PMs) ensuring appropriate governance of the programme. Set the pace of programme governance activity and meetings. Manage the programme action tracker.
Risk Management: Support PMs in their application of the Risk Management Process, providing advice and best practice where appropriate. Support PMs in Identifying and managing risks ensuring appropriate mitigation and controls are in place. Lead the QAPO quarterly Programme Risk Working Group. Represent QAPO at Air Cap Risk Working groups.
Resource Management: Support the programme Director in their allocating and managing of resources effectively to support project delivery and to meet strategic objectives. Ensure the programme has one eye on resourcing future developments.
Performance Monitoring and reporting: Monitor programme performance against key metrics and KPIs to track progress and identify areas for improvement. Lead the monthly QAPO Programme Performance Review, ensuring the Programme Director is appropriately informed of programme performance and risk against objectives.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that projects meet quality standards and comply with relevant MoD assurance requirements. Support the enablement of QAPO programme assurance reviews on behalf of the Programme Director. Lead on post review planning.
Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing best practices to enhance project delivery efficiency.
Information Management: Ensure the programme documentation suite and programme management tools remain up to date, in use and follow best practice. Lead on drafting amendments to programme artifacts. Ensure the programmes information management practices remain compliant with MOD guidelines.
Business Management: Support the development and staffing of programme business cases working with Commercial officers to ensure compliancy. Maintain the Programme Business Case Tracker.
Line Management: Line management of PMO personnel's
Training: Maintain and improve levels of competence by implementing a professional and personnel development plan, reflecting the necessary training requirements associated with the post.
