Summary

- Develop the IT strategy of the organisation in consultation with other senior management.
- Formulate and direct the implementation of the organisation’s policies.
- Drive innovation in the working practices of the organisation.
- Direct the implementation of IT strategy, infrastructure, procurement, procedures, and standards within the organisation.
- Plan, direct, review, and provide technical oversight to IT programmes, coordinating multiple IT projects.
- Ensure new technologies are researched and evaluated considering the organisation’s requirements.
- Develop the periodic business plan and operational budget for IT to deliver agreed service levels.
- Prioritise and schedule major IT projects.
- Plan, organise, coordinate, and direct the resources of the organisation.
- Consider required IT staffing levels, oversee recruitment and appointment of staff, and direct training policy.
- Work with clients or senior management to establish and clarify the aims, objectives, and requirements of IT projects.
- Represent the business in consultation and negotiation with government, employees, and other bodies.
- Organise local authority office work and resources and negotiate contracted out services.
- Direct or undertake the preparation, publication, and dissemination of reports and other information pertaining to the organisation.
