This post will be weighted initially toward managing non-Social Work qualified staff based at Unpaid Work Services.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Lead Officer for Unpaid Work to develop our Unpaid Work Service. This post will involve managing the team of Unpaid Work Officers. The Senior Practitioner will work alongside the Lead Officer for Unpaid work who will be responsible for the management of the Unpaid Work Coordinators and Supervisors.

The Social Work Senior Practitioner will be responsible for the delivery of key operational priorities within the team, providing clear leadership to staff and engaging meaningfully with multi-agency partners. They will work with the Justice management team to ensure that practice and knowledge opportunities within the team are maximised and provide support to staff to practice at an optimal level.

The Senior Practitioner will also manage different caseloads, across the Justice service, often complex.

This post is based at Renfrewshire House, Paisley.

It is essential you have degree level qualification, Degree in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work (DipSw) or equivalent, registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and Significant experience of complex case work in areas of Justice Social Work and /or within the Whole systems approach.

Significant experience in risk assessment/ management and case management in Justice Social Work and /or whole systems approach, working knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, national standards and guidelines and an understanding of professional social work practice, justice social work services, children and families in a local authority setting is also essential.

You must have effective decision-making skills with the ability to make decisions and recommendations based on the analysis of options, IT skills and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Aswell as a high standard of professional and ethical behaviour and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining organisational priorities.

NPPV2 vetting for ViSOR will be a requirement of the recruitment process.
