Job Details
As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will play a vital role in community safety by ensuring children and other members of the community safely cross the road at a designated point between specified times.
No formal qualifications are necessary, the ability to cope in all weather conditions, a good road sense, knowledge of the Highway Code/Green Cross Code and previous experience of working with children would be desirable.
It is essential that you can attend the patrol point daily at school opening and closing times in all weather conditions, including attending at short notice in the event of unscheduled school closures.
Hours are mainly 08:15am to 09:10am and 2:50pm to 3:25pm.

You will earn a competitive salary of £23,783.40 pro rata and have access to a range of benefits, including:

The Person.
Training in safe crossing procedures is provided.
You will be required to complete an annual Occupational Health Surveillance Questionnaire and attend for any Occupational Health Assessments as necessary.
You will be required to attend an Induction Training Day before starting in post.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
