Summary

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Procurement Officer, within the recently restructured Finance Department, at the University of South Wales. As one of the largest higher education providers in Wales, the University provides an ideal setting for individuals to develop their careers, nurture their talent and make a difference.

Based at Pontypridd, but with remote working also possible, this role will provide you with an opportunity to utilize and further develop your procurement, stakeholder engagement and category strategy skills and abilities, collaborating with both stakeholders and suppliers to create value for money for USW, our students, our partners and the wider community.

Specifically, this role will be a Procurement partner to the IT Services/ Transformation and Business Change/ Learning Services and Student Services departments or Finance and Future Students departments, and the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education where a collaborative approach with all sourcing activities and supplier engagements will create cost savings and added value via the supply chain; all market place risks and opportunities are explored and managed through the development of robust category strategies.

We are looking for a credible and professional MCIPS Qualified or Part Qualified candidate, with solid experience of business partnering, strong influencing and negotiation skills, excellent commercial acumen and who can proactively build a network (both internally and externally), so sector wide collaborative procurement opportunities can be explored and delivered. Experience of HE/ public sector procurement is desirable but not essential.
