Job Description

As a Static Building Services Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the operations of one of the largest shopping centre clients in Europe.

The client fosters a supportive environment, offering upskilling courses and opportunities for career progression.

Training and development plans will be put in place to ensure that engineers feel they are moving in the right direction, with structured pathways for professional growth.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will receive guidance and direction on daily duties while delivering a high standard of general building maintenance.

This includes mechanical, electrical, and fabric services as part of a small, multi-disciplinary Building Services Team.

You will also be part of the on-call response team, ensuring the site remains operational and well-maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Complete PPMs and reactive maintenance across the Westfield contract
Support other engineers with client tasks and jobs
Carry out scheduled PPM on electrical and mechanical systems (HVAC, lighting, power distribution, pumps, control systems)
Diagnose and resolve issues to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency
Follow work schedules and maintain full knowledge of assigned areas
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records, estimating time and materials for tasks
Inspect, test, and maintain electrical assets (wiring, lighting, distribution boards)
Service and maintain mechanical systems (boilers, chillers, air-handling units)
Ensure compliance with industry standards, company procedures, and health & safety regulations
Maintain and update compliance documentation
Meet or exceed service level expectations
Provide detailed job reports and recommendations for improvements
Liaise with management for seamless service delivery


Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Experience working across multiple FM sites
Ability to work independently or in small teams on tasks
Proven experience in completing PPM and reactive maintenance
Primarily Electrical: 18th Edition, NVQ or C&G Electrical Installations
Mechanical qualifications: NVQ or C&G Mechanical
Engineering, C&G Heating & Ventilation
Additional certifications preferred: IOSH, IPAF, or PASMA
