The Council are seeking a Benefits Case Worker who has a good awareness of Housing Benefit, Local Council Tax Support and Universal Credit processes and regulations. You will also have positive communication skills, ability to work as part of a team but also individually and be able to work to performance goals.

Duties of the role
As an essential member of the Benefits Processing team, you will be able to work in a team administering claims for Housing Benefit and Local Council Tax Support, assess and calculate new claims, changes in circumstances, handle compliance anomalies as well as answer and resolve at first point of contact direct customer queries. You will also be able to carry out duties in respect of non-payment of Housing Benefit overpayments.

Qualifications and skills required
We expect you to have:

Be educated to a ‘A level’ standard or have the equivalent in experience.
A high-level knowledge and/or relevant proven experience in administration of Housing Benefit, Local Council Tax Support and Universal Credit.

We also hope you have:

Experience of working directly with customers.
Excellent customer and communication skills.
The ability to deliver against personal and team targets.
