Summary
Context:The New Foscote Hospital has been successfully established in Banbury for over 40 years and has provided services and treatments to thousands of people from across the region during this time. We have over 60 consultants, all of whom are leaders in their specialist fields and choose to hold their private practices here, working alongside our friendly, highly qualified and experienced nursing and support teams. With the expansion of the hospital and the opening of a second theatre, there is an exciting opportunity for experienced Endoscopy Practitioners to join our fantastic team. Please note that only candidates with Full UK registration with the NMC or HCPC and previous UK work experience will be considered for this role. Core Responsibilities: To support the Endoscopy Manager in the effective management of the Endoscopy department To carry out the day-to-day duties of the Endoscopy Unit To provide expertise in the delivery of a safe, high quality patient centred endoscopy service To act with the utmost professionalism and to adhere to the NMC code of conduct Monitor and assist in the delivery of patient care Respect the patients dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs A hands on role within the endoscopy suite Encourage, develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self Promote best evidence-based practice Apply and ensure others comply with legislation, policies and procedures To accept delegated responsibilities from the team members within your scope of practice What you will be doing: To efficiently complete all written documentation Ensure appropriate and safe care of the patient during their time in the endoscopy department. Ensure accurate documentation of patients care and progress maintained. Ensure the working environment is as safe as possible and complies with company, professional, legal requirements and guidelines Adhere to Infection Prevention Control policies and procedures Liaise with OUH Oxford University Hospitals decontamination at the Horton Endoscopy Unit with regards to endoscope availability To assist the Endoscopist during endoscopy procedures and have competence using snares, polyp/biopsy collection To admit, recover and discharge patients in a timely manner Proactively monitor the patients level of discomfort/pain and take appropriate actions to ensure the patient is comfortable. To provide quality care across the whole endoscopy patient pathway. To provide a safe environment and act on any discrepancies or issues that may affect patient safety. To provide specialist advise and support as required. To participate in and support staff with in-service training and development. To actively and consistently promote the highest standard of patient care ensuring that all care given to the highest possible standard. To comply with and participate in the hospitals framework or clinical governance within the department, seeking advice or guidance where necessary. To participate in the agreed clinical audit programme. Who we are looking for: Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
