Summary
Job Title: Engineering Draughtsman
Department: Design
Working Hours: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (Monday - Thursday), 7:30 am - 3:00 pm (Friday)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
* Create detailed technical drawings and plans for manufacturing and production, including cutting lists and requisition sheets, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
* Collaborate with clients, engineers, and production teams to refine and finalize design concepts.
* Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and safety regulations.
* Assist in the development and modification of products to meet client requirements and improve performance or cost-efficiency.
* Participate in design reviews and provide valuable insights to improve product designs.
* Maintain organized drawing records and ensure timely updates to project files.
* Work with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure designs are achievable and cost-effective.
Skills Required:
* Highly proficient in SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor.
* Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards and tolerances.
* Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (CS) is beneficial but not essential.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications:
* A qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field.
* Experience in the manufacturing sector, particularly in design for production.
* Familiarity with other CAD software or 3D modeling tools is a plus.
