As a Frontline Logistics Team Leader, you will oversee a small team who manage supplies for circa 600 properties across the country, ensuring frontline staff have the resources they need. You will support the HEO Front Line Logistics and Contract Manager to deliver a cost-effective service aligned with DVSA policies.
Managing the Frontline Logistics team, you will coordinate tasks, meet objectives, and maintain a responsive supply chain. Additionally, you will support Estates teams with property moves, closures, and refurbishments, evaluating supply requests and budget considerations.
Within this dynamic role, you will also oversee procurement processes and contract management. You will be responsible for approving orders, certifying invoices, and ensuring purchases meet Value for Money and Sustainability guidelines. You will identify improvements, implement changes, and liaise with stakeholders to communicate updates.
You will have the opportunity to work across the whole agency, liaising with the relevant internal departments to ensure that customers needs are met. You will also work closely with external suppliers to source goods and ensure best value for money.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Executing management responsibilities effectively and in line with DVSA policies and processes, planning and coordinating tasks and activities and taking responsibility for ensuring objectives are delivered.
- Evaluating the business needs of requests received for all goods and services including equipment and supplies, and consideration of budgets.
- Approving orders made by the Frontline Logistics team including office supplies, operational tools and protective clothing.
- Ensuring good relations and communications with all members of the team, including responding politely and in a timely fashion to internal and external customers.
