This exciting opportunity will suit an individual with strong communication skills and a keen interest in fishing and fisheries. Experience of tackling crime/regulatory non-compliance issues and criminal investigations are preferable but not essential.

You will undertake regular fisheries enforcement patrols, planning and conducting live fish movement audits, High Impact Fisheries Enforcement (HIFE) and rod licence checking. You will collect evidence, undertake interviews ,prepare casefiles and/or develop actions to disrupt illegal activities and proactively establish good working relationships with colleagues and partners.
Fisheries Enforcement Officers need to be flexible, adaptable and respond where pressures demand. This role will require extended periods of patrol in environments which may be physically challenging and potentially hostile.
Successful candidates will require Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance before starting in post and must achieve Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) level 2 (full) clearance after starting in post.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
We are fully committed to being an inclusive employer and ensuring equal opportunities for everyone. We welcome flexible working patterns for all our vacancies, including job share.
