Summary

Trailer Technician / Trailer Mechanic – Loughborough

Salary: £45,000 per annum (OTE £52,000 with overtime)
Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire
Hours: Monday to Friday Day Shift or 4 on 4 off – 6am to 6pm

  Join Our Leading Team as a Trailer Technician / Trailer Mechanic

  Tru Talent is seeking an experienced Trailer Technician / Trailer Mechanic to join a highly skilled team in Loughborough. This role offers a competitive salary of £45,000 per annum, with the potential to earn OTE £52,000 through overtime. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing trailers, ensuring they meet safety and compliance standards in a fast-paced, professional environment.

  Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, service, and repair semi-trailers and heavy vehicles to industry-leading standards
    
  • Diagnose and resolve faults using HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE systems
    
  • Complete all necessary compliance documentation accurately
    
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high repair standards
    
  • Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed at all times
    
  • Participate in IRTEC, tail lift, and BPW & SAF axle/brake training programs
    Skills and Qualifications:

    Essential:

    • Experience working with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles
      
    • Industry-recognized qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3)
      
    • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
      

      Desirable:

      • HGV Class 1 driving licence
        
      • IRTEC accreditation
        
      • Experience with EBS diagnostics (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)
        
      • Welding certification
        
      • Knowledge of axle manufacturers (BPW, SAF, JOST)
        
      • Experience with tail lift, double deck, or lifting deck maintenance
