Summary
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical Duties Carry out routine venepuncture (phlebotomy) for blood tests. Undertake additional patient observations such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose monitoring. Contribute to patient assessment/consultation in conjunction with registered staff members. Assist with ECG recording. Assist with spirometry and FeNo testing under supervision. Provide support to the clinical PCN and Mid Dorset practices when required urgently. Health Promotion and Patient Education Support patients with advice and guidance around health promotion. Maintain accurate and timely patient records using the clinical system (e.g., SystmOne). Contribute to the collection of data for audits and quality improvement initiatives within the PCN and as directed by the clinical lead. General Responsibilities Follow practice policies, protocols, and national guidelines, including infection control and safeguarding. Participate in staff training and clinical competency assessments. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times in line with GDPR and professional codes of conduct. Undertake continuing professional development and mandatory training. Assist with any other reasonable duties required to ensure the smooth running of the clinical PCN team.
