Crynodeb

The postholder’s primary role is to lead a team of staff in the maintenance and provision of Air Information (AI) to support Defence, Government and Civilian customers. This includes maintenance and dissemination of the World Digital Vertical Obstructions File (DVOF), the UK linear Powerlines and the Military Airfields Retrieval System (MARS) Airfields datasets.

DVOF, Powerlines and Airfields data supports Air Safety critical Defence charting and product requirements and provides input into DGC’s mandated NCGI Priority 1a SoN 28-day Air Information Regulation And Control (AIRAC) outputs. The post holder is ultimately responsible for these AIRAC outputs every 28-days. Additionally, the job holder is responsible for the AIRAC production of the Chart Amendment Document (CHAD) and the production and provision of Maximum Elevation Figure (MEF) data.

The postholder will lead the relocation of GAIT from MOD Feltham to RAF Northolt, and the subsequent transfer of command from DGC to No 1 AIDU.

This is an exciting post providing an excellent opportunity to work across functional boundaries and internationally, making a significant contribution to NCGI’s Air Safety critical outputs.

The role involves elements relating to the production of AI for which there is an increased level of Quality Control and Quality Assurance, so the post holder is required to have completed all relevant training required of the organisation.

When the post relocates from MOD Feltham to RAF Northolt the incumbent will be expected to change working location.

All jobs advertised in DI are subject to fair and open competition.
