The Role
Tameside Council is committed to building a safer digital world and we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Cyber team as a Cyber Trainee.
As a Cyber Trainee you will work closely with experienced cybersecurity and IT professionals, gaining hands on experience in various aspects of the field.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to start their career in cyber security.
You will be involved in a range of tasks, including:
- Assisting with threat analysis, incident response, and risk assessments
- Supporting the development and implementation of security solutions
- Monitoring and analyzing security alerts and investigating security breaches
- Collaborating with internal teams to improve security measures
- Conducting vulnerability assessments and contributing to remediation strategies and solutions
- Developing and participating in cybersecurity awareness programs and training exercises
- Contributing to ongoing research and staying updated with the latest cybersecurity trends
About You
Applicants should have the following qualities:
- A genuine interest in cyber security
- A passion for technology with a good understanding of IT concepts, networks and security protocols
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- A desire to learn and grow within the cybersecurity field
- Previous experience in IT is a plus as is a relevant qualification (or working towards a qualification).
- Students about to graduate are particularly welcome to apply
