Summary
Role Overview:
As a Container Driver, you will be responsible for transporting shipping containers between docks and other designated locations within Liverpool and the surrounding areas. You will be expected to operate various container vehicles efficiently and safely while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate container transport vehicles, including articulated lorries, to move containers within the Liverpool dock area and to various locations.
Ensure all containers are securely loaded, unloaded, and transported.
Conduct routine checks on vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and report any maintenance issues.
Maintain compliance with all safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
Assist in navigating busy dock environments and manage tight schedules.
Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery confirmations and logbooks, as required by the company.
Ensure timely and professional customer service when delivering containers.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of driving experience as a container driver.
Must hold valid Liverpool Dock Cards.
Strong understanding of traffic and road regulations, particularly in the dock areas.
Excellent knowledge of the local area and ability to navigate dock environments.
Ability to handle and transport large and heavy containers safely.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license is required.
A good work ethic and strong attention to detail.
A flexible approach to working hours (occasional overtime may be required).
