At Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) our team is responsible for the management of Justice Services in the South of Glasgow. Justice Services provide strength based support and statutory supervision of orders imposed by the court . Our work has the goal of helping and empowering individuals to make positive changes to their lives to reduce offending and offer a high level of protection to the public. We work with a variety of offenders and utlise internal specialist teams as well as third sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join Glasgow in delivering results in the area of unpaid work.

The Social Care Worker within Justice Services has a key role in the delivery of the Justice Statutory Social Work function relating to Unpaid Work Orders. This involves completing risk assessments to identify the most appropriate work placement for that individual, identifying opportunities for “other activity” that contributes to the completion of the order and ensuring compliance with the conditions of the Court order. There is also opportunity to be involved in professional development and widening skill set by providing support to service users with a variety of complex needs. There is a focus on personal and professional development and training opportunities will be provided.

The role involves regular liaison with placement providers, maintaining case records, completion of various reports for the purposes of Court, liaison with other agencies, as well as attendance at Court when required and attendance at any other meetings / reviews as required.

Applicants must possess a Social Care Qualifications HNC and/or SVQ Level 3. They should be enthusiastic with good communication skills and be able to juggle competing demands of the job. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership.
