Summary
We are pleased to announce that we have a Full time vacancy (37.5 hours per week ) for a Specialist / Advanced Optometrist (Band 7) to join our progressive friendly optometry team at Oxford Eye Hospital. This post will give you a varied job plan depending on your experience to date and changing demands on the service. The post will suit those who have experience in hospital optometry delivering high level clinical care in core and extended roles.
Additional College of Optometrist Higher Qualifications would be an advantage.
Additional training will be given as needed to meet service demands.
Core optometry opportunities include:
1. Complex adult and paediatric refractions both at the JR site.
2.Paediatric refractions at out reach clinics in the county working alongside Orthoptists
3. Medical contact lens - management of keratoconus and scleral lens fitting.
4. Low vision service for adults and Paediatrics
5. You may be involved in providing Eye Casualty telephone triage
6. Extended roles include:
Eye Casualty work, Glaucoma clinics , Cornea clinics , Uveitis clinics , AMD and other medical retina clinics, Ultrasound and Electrophysiology.
