About the Role
As the Shipping Manager, you will oversee both international and domestic shipping operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products. You will also manage the on-site warehouse team, ensuring all processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping Operations: Manage all imports and exports, collaborating with freight forwarders, agents, and suppliers to coordinate shipping schedules and methods.
Documentation and Compliance: Produce delivery projections, manage VAT and duty payments, maintain up-to-date Customs Declaration Service accounts, and ensure all HMRC authorisations are in place.
Warehouse Management: Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff, implement efficient processes, conduct regular inventory audits, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
UK Distribution: Oversee UK parcel carriers, set up distribution tariffs, assist warehouse staff with courier labels, and manage collections and deliveries.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within the logistics or shipping industry, a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
