Job purpose: To establish and develop sustainable opportunities for Boys football linked to the community and elite game.
Role Competencies:

Planning Timescales:
• Strategic planning for Boys’s football in our Boys COE, Advanced and Community Boys programmes
• To deliver the fixtures across all groups each week and have Referee’s set-in place for each age group in our games program
• To plan, prepare and implement a well-structured and progressive Regional talent club, based around the targets set out by the FA.
• To manage the growth of the MK Dons Boys’ Pathway
• To develop a robust system for Boys talent identification.
• To plan and manage the delivery of a high-quality Boys Holiday programme for SET, to achieve agreed KPI’s

Decision Making:
• To recommend direction and decisions within the remit of the role within the Boys pathway to Head of Community Football
• To contribute to KPI achievement, reporting, case studies and wider evidence of impact.
• Perform other duties as required relevant to the post and to the objectives of the Milton Keynes Dons Sport and Education trust

Impact and Influence:
• Ensure governance and safeguarding within the MK Don SET Delivery is adhered to by self and team
• To ensure the safety of players, volunteers and staff are priority
• To promote a positive image of Milton Keynes Dons Sport and Education
• To develop good relationships amongst other clubs
• To positively promote the Trust’s equal opportunities policy and core values in all aspects of the Post’s responsibilities and duties.
Skill Level:
• Demonstrate advanced expertise in emergency first aid, having achieved FA Emergency First Aid Level 1.
• Hold UEFA B qualification, reflecting a high level of competency and understanding in coaching methodologies.
• Maintain valid safeguarding certificates for children and vulnerable adults, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
• Extensive experience coaching boys' football, with a deep understanding of the unique developmental needs of young athletes.
• Thoroughly versed in boys' elite pathways and player pathway structures, providing valuable insights into player development and progression.
Communication:
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to develop good working relationships with staff, partners and players.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the Head of Community Football
• To line manage all individuals within the Boys’ ADV and COE program
• Responsible for all administrative duties associated to the MK Dons SET Boys programmes
Budget Management:
• Day to day management of MK Dons SET Boys Pathway programmes
• Day to day management of Boys Holiday camps
• Day to day management of Boys tours (as applicable)
• Management of payment system for parents/ players ensuring monthly and weekly payments are received and if not chased for pathways and camps.
Lead and Develop:
• Develop the coaches and support the through CPD and individual coaching reviews
• Contribute to the evaluation of impact on players within the Boys pathways
• Responsible for the recruitment of staff on the Boys pathway
Operating Parameters:
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluating practice
• To be responsible for reporting all safeguarding issues when notified via the correct mechanisms
• The role will be based across our SET-managed venues and will involve travel to away games/ fixtures/ events
• To perform other duties as required which are considered relevant to the post and to the objectives of the Milton Keynes Dons Sport and Education Trust.
• To support the wider MK Dons SET activities as required
Essential
• UEFA B License
• FA Licensed
• A recognised FA First Aid Qualification
• Knowledge and understanding of child protection issues including holding a current FA Safeguarding Children Workshop certificate
• Experience in coaching Boys’ football
• An understanding of current Boys elite pathways and player pathway structures
• Have knowledge and understanding of child development and be sensitive to children’s needs
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and training events when required
• Own transport essential

Desirable
• FA Youth Module 1 and 2
• An understanding of Talent Identification
• An appreciation of Long Term Player Development
• Attended the FA Youth Coaches Course
• Knowledge and understanding of working with young players
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Understanding of Boys Academy’s
• Experience working within Boys development

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.
