Summary
We are looking for an experienced candidate with Cancer Waiting Times knowledge from prior experience working as a CWT Deputy Manager or MDT Coordinator to accurately and efficiently record, validate, and manage cancer-related data (Pathway, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Staging) from across multiple systems onto the Somerset Cancer Registry whilst ensuring compliance with tumour site-specific pathways and Cancer Waiting Times / COSD guidance. This role is crucial in supporting the delivery of high-quality cancer care by maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records. Additionally, the role involves mapping out existing and expected cancer pathways to ensure seamless patient care and adherence to national standards and drafting user guides and SOPs for existing reports. The successful candidate will accurately record and update patient data in the Somerset cancer information system, including recording staging, treatment data, diagnosis (ICD10 Codes), creating new pathways, and implementing upgrades as per CWT v12. Collaboration with the clinical and administrative teams is essential to gather and verify this data. The candidate will validate and cross-check data from multiple sources to maintain data integrity, ensuring all data entry complies with national cancer waiting times guidance and tumour site-specific pathways. They will fix any data anomalies and escalate complex scenarios as needed. System coordination involves working with multiple data systems, including the Somerset Cancer Registry (SCR) and other relevant databases, ensuring seamless integration and consistency of data across different platforms. Pathway knowledge is essential, as the candidate will maintain a thorough understanding of tumour site-specific pathways to accurately track patient progress and treatment. They will apply knowledge of cancer waiting times guidance to ensure timely data entry and reporting, mapping out existing and expected cancer pathways to support patient care and compliance with national standards. Reporting and analysis responsibilities include generating reports and summaries from the data systems as required and assisting in the analysis of data to support cancer service improvements and compliance with national standards.
