The Role

The role of Allocations Officer is based at Tameside Housing Advice which is the homeless prevention service for Tameside, offering advice, information and housing options for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

As an Allocations Officer you will ensure effective access to housing options for customers & maintain the housing register. You will have a busy and varied workload that will involve assessing applications for the housing register ensuring all documentation is complete, shortlisting applications for the allocation of social housing and nominations to registered providers in accordance with the council’s policies, relevant agreements and legislation.

About You

You will be a great multitasker and be able to manage and prioritise a busy workload. You will have the ability to analyse, process and retrieve information via computer records and prioritise complex tasks. Have a high level of customer service skills. Be a team player and be able to build strong working partnerships. It would also be an added advantage if you were able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Housing Act 1996: Part 6 & Part 7 and other relevant regulations and legislation
