Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our team on Ward 2 at Wansbeck General Hospital.
Ward 2 is a ward specialising in Gastroenterology and Respiratory general medicine patients, in a busy sub acute setting.
We aim to provide high standards of care to a vast range of patients with complex needs, with an emphasis on discharge planning and support.

The main purpose of the role is to plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the nurses and the ward manager.
• Undertakes a range of delegated clinical care duties in hospital.
• Records patient observations and changes to patient clinical conditions
• Carries out limited clinical care duties.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. • To provide safe and high-quality care to patients/clients.
• Undertakes a limited range of delegated clinical care duties, relevant to the services provided / work area, record patient observations e.g. taking blood pressure, blood glucose monitoring.
• Wound observations and simple wound dressings.
• Removal of peripheral canulae.
• Urinalysis
• Aids with personal hygiene, eating and drinking, mobility needs under direct or indirect supervision.
• To promote patient/client health.
