Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:
• Supporting students with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more
• Assisting in the development and delivery of tailored learning plans and activities
• Providing 1:1 or small group support to help students achieve their academic goals
• Promoting social and emotional development by building confidence and self-esteem
• Helping students engage in classroom discussions and activities, ensuring full participation
• Working closely with the SENCO and other teaching staff to implement personalized learning strategies
• Encouraging independence, critical thinking, and self-regulation in students
• Managing classroom behaviour and fostering a positive, inclusive environment
Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:
• A 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology or a related field
• A genuine passion for working with students with SEN and supporting their development
• A strong understanding of psychological principles related to learning difficulties and child development
• Previous experience in an educational setting or with SEN students is desirable, but not essential
• Patience, empathy, and flexibility to meet the diverse needs of students
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner
• A proactive attitude and desire to make a difference in the lives of students
• An interest in pursuing a career in education, SEN support, or educational psychology
