Summary
We are recruiting for a Cattery Assistant position at Cordelia’s Cattery, Harvester’s Farm, West Hanningfield.
We are looking to hire a friendly, hard-working individual to provide the highest standards of care to the cats staying with us.
Position 1 - permanent
Day and hours
Saturdays or Sundays- dependant on busiest day
8-11 AM then 2-5PM
Position 2 - temporary summer
Days and hours
Monday - Friday
mornings 8AM-12PM
You will be responsible for dealing with customers, cleaning cabins, feeding and generally interacting with the cats. You must therefore love being around cats and be confident handling them.
Applicants need to be 16 years of age or over to apply and be able to travel to and from West Hanningfield.
Pay starts at £10 per hour for under the age of 21, £12.21 for age 21 and above, increasing with experience.
Cordelia's Cattery is a small family run business based on the Harvesters Farm Kennels site.
Job role includes:
-providing enrichment and interaction with the cats
-Feeding cats
-Cleaning cat cabins
-Booking in and out cats
-Giving medication if needed
-Filling out any medical forms and booking in forms.
-Maintaining overall tidiness of the cattery.
-Working independently on quiet days.
Overtime may be available when the cattery is busy.
Holiday - will be the government entitlement based on your hours.
Full training will be given, and I will work with you and guide you to make sure everything is running smoothly to build confidence before being left alone with the cats and customers.
The post may be particularly suitable for students on an animal management course wanting to gain experience.
