Summary


We have an exciting opportunity for a Cancer Support Worker to join to the Urology Oncology specialist nursing team at Barts Hospital.



This role will support the coordination of care for Uro-oncology cancer patients living with and beyond a diagnosis of a cancer. The role will include providing administrative support to patients, families, Consultants, CNSs and other staff involved in the Urology-Oncology pathway. There will be a focus on ensuring the provision of good information to patients and their families, and being a point of contact for them in the case of any general queries. The role will also help the CNS teams to undertake Holistic Needs Assessments, and personalised care and support planning; signposting patients to support services and resources, triaging patient phone calls, help organise health and wellbeing events and will work to improve the overall experience of patients and their families.



In the Barts Health Cancer Service there are lots of opportunities for learning and developing skills and we support nurses in their professional development.

This role will support the coordination of care for Urology oncology patients throughout their diagnostic and treatment pathway. There will be a focus on ensuring the provision of good information to patients and their families, and being a point of contact for them in the case of any general queries. The role will also help the CNS Teams to undertake Holistic Needs Assessments and other elements of the Recovery Package, and will work to improve the overall experience of urological cancer patients and theircarers.
