TestCard, a MedTech business previously voted Scarborough Large Business of the Year, is looking for an Operations Technician. This role will be based at our East Ayton Manufacturing, R&D, Quality and Customer Services site. This role will work within the operation department of business, this includes production, customer services, commercial and other operational strands of the business.
With excellent communication skills, a good understanding of maths and the ability to follow written and verbal instruction accurately; this is an ideal role for someone who is starting out in their operations journey or wanting to look at a change in career. TestCard are always keen to promote from within, so the opportunity for growth and development, if wanted, is possible.
This is a fully office-based role.
The contract will be for 5 days over Monday - Saturday working, however, we currently only operate on a Monday - Friday basis.

Job Brief
The Operations Technician plays a key role across a number of areas within the company. They will support all aspects of operations. This includes activities in the production/manufacturing site, product verification, customer services, and software testing support.
Readings, observations, and the following of approved procedures play an important role in the company’s quality output. Work often involves independent working although supervision may be direct. Accuracy is essential. A methodical approach to work is essential in this role. You will be required to follow directions accurately and keep paper and digital records.
Manufacturing will include producing the final product to be supplied to the market.
Customer services will include engaging with customers, helping them resolve any issues, and providing feedback to the operations team to deliver new products, functionality, and features to our mobile apps.
The software testing support will include gathering data for the continuous improvement of TestCard’s software via experimental runs.
Responsibilities
Support all company operational aspects
The use of correct PPE (personal protective equipment)
Completing records in accordance with internal procedures
Be well versed in the Quality Management System as applicable to the role
Follow quality procedures accurately
Follow instructions provided by the supervisor and/or senior staff
Work well with others maintaining respectful communication with colleagues and contacts outside of the company
Housekeeping duties associated with the role
Maintain an up to date personal training record
Manual assembly of medical diagnostic devices in a cleanroom environment
Initially responding to customer enquiries
Delivering outstanding customer service on every interaction
Reporting on the status of customer satisfaction to the operations team
Gather data from specific experimental runs of the company’s software
Other functions in support of the business as reasonably requested by their line manager
Requirements
Excellent communication skills
Competent with computers, phones and other devices
Good numeracy and computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office or GSuite preferred
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Methodical Work practice
Problem-solving aptitude
Good manual dexterity and ability to assist with stacking boxes and moving bulk-packed products and raw materials around the production and distribution environment
Experience in a customer facing role would be an advantage
Minimum of Maths, English and Science GCSE (or equivalent)
