This is a key role within the business unit (Multi-Purpose Vehicle & Module Operation) delivering key shifts for the customer, Network Rail, by the safe driving and control of a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV).

What you'll be doing

The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for the safe driving and control of a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV);
  • Deliver the relevant equipment to the Network Rail infrastructure in order to ensure full operational delivery;
  • Carry out minor maintenance and repairs;
  • Make a positive contribution to a small dedicated team working on high profile contracts;
  • Have a flexible approach to work, being prepared to work around a roster that includes night, weekends, bank holidays and ability to respond to short notice changes of plan.

Who we're looking for

The following experience/qualifications are essential:

  • A qualified train driver with a good safety record and holding some route knowledge on the infrastructure;
  • A Sentinel Card holder;
  • An understanding of core asset modules;
  • An appreciation of the importance of good customer relations;
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing;
  • Hold a current UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points;
  • Qualified Train Driver with a good safety record.

The following experience/qualifications are desirable:

  • Complete and in-date route knowledge of the infrastructure;
  • Have a good awareness of railway health and safety requirements, particularly as they relate to train operations;
  • Qualified Train Driver, as above, with previous yellow plant experience.
