This is a temporary role, initially 3 months. Please do not apply if you are seeking a permanent position.
Standard DBS required for this role.
Key Requirements:
Relevant experience of having worked in a financial environment.
Experience of working as part of a finance team, within a public or private sector organisation.
Able to demonstrate a good understanding of Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable processes.
Able to produce work to agreed deadlines and standards.
Able to work as part of a team to support and improve financial processes, controls, or transactions.
Good understanding of using Excel spreadsheets, and practical experience of using MS Word and other Microsoft Office packages.
The successful candidate will support the Home Ownership team and Housing management finance function generally by undertaking various financial, administrative and accounting tasks, including the invoicing and allocation of cash receipts. A high level of data integrity and accuracy needs to be maintained, whilst delivering an efficient and timely service.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake reconciliations and investigate reasons for any variances identified.
Undertake analysis of transactions and present results in a coherent and logical format.
Responsible for processing payments (including compensation and refunds) that do not follow the councils preferred payment process through IBC.
Act as a point of contact within the Home Ownership team to assist Housing Management with supplier queries to resolve any issues raised promptly.
Lead on the allocation of unallocated income.
Assist in resolving customer finance related queries.
Be proactive in managing and providing support to the business with regards to all transactional Finance activities.
