Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Governors are seeking to appoint an inspiring teacher of Technology who is committed to excellent teaching and learning, has high expectations of pupils, and supports pupils’ personal development. We welcome applications from colleagues with relevant experience and qualifications within technology, including a background in food technology. This is a full-time position, but we would consider part-time requests for the right candidate.

You will enjoy being part of a collaborative and dedicated team of specialist staff within a highly successful department. Staff work with integrity together to enable all pupils to flourish. The role will mainly be focused on the teaching of Technology at Key Stages Three and Four, with the potential of also teaching to Post-16.

The successful candidate will:

o Be willing to work hard, be kind and make a difference

o Have a good honours degree in a relevant subject

o Be an excellent classroom teacher with the ability to inspire pupils about the subject

o Able to communicate mathematical concepts clearly and accurately

o Identify knowledge gaps and devise effective intervention strategies

o Support pupils to prepare for GCSE and A Level examinations (where appropriate)

o Provide feedback to pupils about their learning and how to improve

o Use data effectively to track the progress of pupils

o Be passionate about working at The Deanery and fully support our Christian ethos

The post is covered by the Protection of Children Act and is therefore subject to an enhanced DBS check.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
