Summary
FBR Recruitment are looking for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to work for an established Civil Engineering company based in Fareham, Hampshire specialising in Groundwork & Civil Engineering. They are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Mobile Plant Fitter to join their team.
As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for performing on-site repairs and maintenance for our fleet of construction equipment. Such as Tools, Telescopic Forklifts, Dumpers, Rollers and 360 Excavators etc. Your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities will be critical in ensuring their vehicles are operational and safe, supporting the efficiency of their projects. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform on-site repairs and maintenance on various construction/engineering vehicles and plant equipment, including excavators. Dumpers, rollers, telehandlers & small plant
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, ensuring quick resolution to minimize downtime
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire checks
• Use diagnostic tools and specialized equipment to troubleshoot and repair machinery
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts replaced
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, keeping both personnel and equipment safe
Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience as a Mobile Fitter or in a similar role within the construction/engineering/plant sector
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy machinery and welding experience.
• Ability to work independently and problem-solve on-site
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and machinery repair techniques
• A strong focus on safety, with knowledge of industry safety standards
• Full UK driving license required
Days/Hours:
• Monday to Friday 08:00am to 5pm
Salary - £40k - £45K per annum
• Standard Company Pension
• Standard Company Holiday – 21 Days per year plus Bank Holidays
• Mobile Phone
• Fully Expensed Company Van – Long Wheel Base
