Staffordshire County Council is seeking a dedicated Business and Enterprise Programme Officer to project manage the Supporting Care Leavers into Employment scheme, . This role is crucial in supporting the corporate parenting responsibilities of the County Council and wider stakeholders.

You will be based at Staffordshire Place 1, Tipping Street, Stafford, ST16 2DH, although we do offer flexible/remote working, within the team.

This is a 2 year fixed term contract from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2027.

Main Responsibilities

In this role you'll:

  • Project Management: Oversee the multiple strands of the programme:
  • Support care leavers into employment by engaging with businesses and supporting the process of matching care leavers into the workplace.
  • Manage the application and qualification of achieving a quality mark
  • Manage the Bursary Fund application, appraisal, approval, and payment processes, in conjunction with third party provider
  • Panel Management: Manage the governance process of the programme
  • Daily Operations: Handle day-to-day activities of the project
  • Engagement: Promote the scheme to local businesses at events and meetings.
  • Be the point of contact for multi-disciplinary teams and our business community
The Ideal Candidate

For this role you'll:

  • Be proficient in information technology and financial reporting, with experience navigating finance systems.
  • Be effective under pressure, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Have proven ability to work collaboratively with partners and team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Have a background in business support/administration, business finance, and programme management is essential.
  • Understand public sector processes and procedures.
  • Have excellent time management and attention to detail, acting as the primary point of contact for the scheme.
  • Hold a degree/Level 5 qualification in programme management / business and finance, or equivalent experience.
